Linsey Careers Shares Silver Anvil
for Work on "A Really Goode Job" Campaign
Linsey Careers was recognized by client Jackson Family Wines who won the Public Relations Society of America’s prestigious Silver Anvil award for the Murphy Goode "Really Goode Job" campaign.
It was a year ago that Murphy-Goode Winery launched campaign using traditional and social media to attract candidates to a six-month assignment in California’s wine country.
The Really Goode Job campaign catapulted the wine industry into the thick of the rapidly growing world of social media. It was based on a hiring search for a wine lover and social media expert charged with living "The Wine Country Lifestyle" and telling their story via multiple new media channels.
Linsey Careers was hired to work closely with the Murphy Goode PR and Marketing teams to create a consistent and equitable hiring process. The Linsey Careers team screened the more than 2000 applicants, nearly 1,000 of whom applied online by submitting a one-minute video via You Tube in a six-week period. The applicants were narrowed down to the Top 50 and then the Top 10 before a final candidate was hired.
"It was amazing to work on a position so complex and highly publicized," said Angee Linsey, Managing Director of Linsey Careers. She and her team screened videos, online presence of the applicants, and did in-depth phone screens for those most qualified. "Creative and interesting videos were an important piece of the screening process, but the interviews were what helped us identify the best fit for this role," she said.
It is uncommon for a search firm to share in the success of such an esteemed award, but such a large component of the overall program was about the candidates and their social media activities throughout the campaign. "Having a high-touch recruiting effort made a big impact on the buzz of the campaign and the overall candidate experience," said Communications Senior Vice President Caroline Shaw. "We share this award with Angee Linsey and her team because of the significant contribution they made to the overall success of the program. Ultimately due to their recruiting efforts, we hired three candidates for our company."
The campaign garnered a wine industry-record 833-million earned media impressions in the four-month span of the campaign. One year after the campaign began, sales of Murphy-Goode wines across varieties had risen 74%.
